Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are twin organizations which form the core of a worldwide spiritual movement, aims at the harmony of religions, harmony of the East and the West, harmony of the ancient and the modern, spiritual fulfi lment, all-round development of human faculties, social equality, and peace for all humanity, without any distinctions of creed, caste, race or nationality.
The service activities of the Ramakrishna Mission gathered momentum in Tripura with the establishment of Ramakrishna Mission Educational Complex as a branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal, at Viveknagar, a rural area located 8 k.m. away from Agartala, the capital town of the State of Tripura. Th e development of this Educational Complex has an important background history, which deserves special mention. In 1989, a tripartite Peace Accord was executed between the Governments (Govt. of India, Govt. of Tripura) and Tripura National Volunteers, and following the said Peace Accord, the Ramakrishna Mission was invited to start educational services, and thus, the present Ramakrishna Mission Educational Complex has come to an existence at Viveknagar on 29th May in 1989, on the land handed over to the Ramakrishna Mission by the Government of Tripura.
The Ramakrishna Mission Pvt. ITI bagged the 1st RANK in Tripura in Phase-lI grading conducted by DGT, Govt. of India in the year 2020.
Permanent Exhibition at the I.T.I. Complex:
The permanent exhibition of ITI reflects its journey during the last three decades. A unique art gallery at the I.T.I. Complex, viz. ITI: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Vimalatmanandaji Maharaj, Trustee, Ramakrishna Math, Belurmath, West Bengal, on 25th September, 2022. This transpires the backdrop behind establishment of an ITI in the Campus and its future as well. The Visitors can have an idea about the ITI as well as the ‘Ideology of Ramakrishna Order’ and ‘Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar at a Glance’.
ITI Production Cell (LED Lamps and Tube Production Centre):
The Workshop cum Production Cell is based on the concept of ‘Earning while Learning’ scheme of the Govt. of India. The trainees of this ITI under the guidance of the instructional staff are able to produce LED Bulbs of 9W, 15W and 20W capacity; Inverter LED Bulbs of 12W capacity and LED Tube Lights of 20W capacity. The Products have been given brand name as ‘Dipta’ (LED Bulbs of 9W, 15W and 20W capacity), ‘Sudipta’ (Inverter LED Bulbs of 12 W capacity) and ‘Pradipta’(LED Tubes of 20W capacity). The production cell was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Education Minister, Govt. of Tripura, on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, the 30th August 2021. All these Bulbs/Tubes are packed and sold only after necessary quality checks. The quality control system enables the Institute not only to provide the procurer/customers warranty of 12 months on LED Bulbs / Tube Lights and a warranty of 6 (six) months on the Inverter LED bulbs but also in reasonable rate.
Computer Course at the Gangail Road Sub-Centre:
The Computer Training Centre, operated by the Institute at the Gangail Road Sub-Centre, has been successfully conducting short-term computer courses. Four batches have already completed their training, with certificates awarded to all successful participants (up to Batch 5). The 6th batch began its training on September 20, 2025.
Nal-Jal-Mitra Project:
The Ministry of Jal Shakti & Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India jointly launched a programme namely “Nal Jal Mitra”, wherein our Institute has been chosen as a training provider by the Directorate of Skill Development, Govt. of Tripura. In this regard, Sri Samir Debbarma, Sr. Instructor (Plumber Trade) was nominated as a trainer and he had completed the training of trainer programme for the qualification pack of Jal Vitaran Sanchalak (Water Distribution Operator) (Multi-Skill) and awarded certificate with trainer ID – TR377821 by the Chairperson of Water Management and Plumbing Skill Council.
As a part of the programme, a list comprising 30 beneficiaries was sent to us by the Directorate of Skill Development, Govt. of Tripura for training.
The classroom training part of the aforesaid training programme commenced on 13.08.2024 and culminated on 01.10.2024. Then, after completion of the “On the Job Training” part of the programme at the Drinking Water Supply (DWS) Department, 18 nos. of trainees appeared in the final assessment conducted by the Plumbing Sector Skill Council, New Delhi and all have successfully passed the assessment and were duly awarded certificates.
We have received the work-order for the second batch for training of 33 nos. trainees. However, beneficiary list is yet to be provided by the Directorate of Skill Development.
